Phaneroo speaks out on Bobi Wine attack claims
Phaneroo Ministries has distanced itself from a video clip shared on social media in which it’s preacher, Apostle Grace Lubega is alleged to have attacked Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine over his alleged presidential aspirations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministries’ public relations office says a video clip of the September 6, 2018 service was created out of context by propagandists and posted on social media to taint their image.
“This short video clip was not prepared or sent by Phaneroo Ministries, and neither exists on any of our media platforms. This was done by some unknown individuals, who for their personal motives intentionally cut out of a full sermon, what worked for their benefit,” the statement said.
Further the ministry says: “We are neither for the present establishment nor for any anti-establishment— we are for and of God.”
Following the said video recording of the sermon, many people on social media castigated the youthful preacher for judging the singer turned politician, reminding him of what the Bible says about passing judgment unto others.
However, in their defence, Phaneroo Ministries says they do not condone violence, and the shedding of innocent blood to achieve political objectives.
“Neither do we judge any man for we are not God, and if this was the impression given, we choose to turn the right cheek and apologise for that,” reads the statement which was posted on their social media platforms on Sunday.
