NATIONAL EXAMS

There are 14 days left before the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) closes its door to this year’s registration for national examinations.

The deadline was initially supposed to be this Friday (November 20), but it was extended by the national exams body until November 30.

UNEB executive secretary Dan Odongo said they will tolerate no excuses this time around.

“We have been alerting all schools and students. We expect no excuses since there will be no deadline extension after November 30 – or even late registration.”

His statement issued last week added: “As earlier communicated, there will be no room for late registration. Schools are therefore urged to ensure that they register all their candidates during the period.”

Students started registering for their national examinations on October 22.

The schools calendar shows that the briefing of students will be on February 26, and the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE/O’level) examinations will start on March 1, 2021 to April 6, 2021.

Odongo explained that briefing of Primary Seven candidates will be on March 26 and they will later sit their exams on March 30 and March 31 next year.

Briefing for Senior Six (A’level) candidates will follow on April 9 and they will sit for exams from April 12 to May 3, 2021.
