It is the start of the second week of the presidential campaigns as the candidates continue to traverse the country to address voters.

ELECTION CAMPAIGNS

As the incumbent in the presidential race, President Yoweri Museveni of NRM, enters Acholi and Karamoja, NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi is in eastern Uganda.

Museveni is expected to head to Gulu today (Monday) and later to Kitgum on Tuesday, as per the schedule he agreed on with the national Electoral Commission.

Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine will be heading to Mayuge, Bugiri and Iganga.

FDCs’ Patrick Amuriat Oboi will head to Agago and Pader while DP’s Norbert Mao is in Isingiro and Mbarara.

Mugisha Muntu of ANT will be in Kyotera, Rakai and Kalangala.

Independent candidates are also moving around the country to canvass for votes in a presidential race that features 11 candidates.

Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde is expected in Kasese and Bunyangabu while Joseph Kabuleta is expected in Kotido, Abim and Napak.

Nancy Kalembe will be in Kaabong, Kotido and Moroto.

Willy Mayambala is expected in Rakai and Lwengo while John Katumba will be looking for votes in Apac and Oyam.

The general election is due in January next year.
