Hojlund emerging as ‘Plan B’ for Madrid

Real Madrid are monitoring Rasmus Hojlund‘s progress at Manchester United as an alternative to signing Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Hojlund was a Madrid target prior to his move to Old Trafford from Atalanta last summer.

After a slow start in Manchester, the Dane scored his 11th goal of the season in United’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa on Sunday, his fifth in as many games.

According to Spanish publication Defensa Central, Real Madrid’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, has been asked to ‘keep a close eye’ on Hojlund,
who is being linked with a move to Madrid as a ‘Plan B’ if their hopes of signing either Mbappe or Erling Haaland fails.
