Besigye Urges Ugandans to Break Free from Captivity Under Museveni Regime

KABALE: The Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President, Col Dr. Kizza Besigye, has urged Ugandans to think out of the box and break free from what he describes as a prolonged state of captivity orchestrated by the current regime led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Speaking passionately at a consultative meeting held at Hilltop Hotel in Kabale Municipality yesterday, Dr. Besigye addressed leaders and supporters from Kisoro, Rukiga, Rubanda, and Kabale districts. He emphasized the urgent need for Ugandans to liberate themselves from the shackles of oppression imposed by the ruling government.

Dr. Besigye articulated that the time had come for Ugandans to awaken from the slumber of captivity if they truly wished to reclaim ownership of their country. He pointed out various forms of entrapment, including the misuse of firearms, exorbitant taxes, perpetuation of family leadership, and the propagation of deceptive government initiatives like the Parish Development Model Program. These, he asserted, were deliberate tactics designed to divert the populace from their collective mission and sow seeds of division.

Highlighting instances where party leaders were ensnared in confusion due to state influence, Dr. Besigye underscored that many Ugandans had been born and raised under a regime of captivity. He called upon citizens to recognize this reality and underscored the necessity of individual sacrifice in the struggle for liberation.
